Susanne Ruoff

My work includes two main issues: the work for the interior space and the work for outside. According to the different local references, both fields of work exist and develop independently from each other.

The works for inside are abstract objects made from wood. They are three-dimensional objects in the form of an open or closed relief in which the intermediate spaces and the traces of shadows both add to the spacial and to the pictorial form.

The works for outside are site-specific installations that are always made for one special place. They are develloped in relation to the environment and its characteristics and themes, they play with the perception and the proportion of the space.
They intend to build up a dialogue between the environment and the artistic intervention, wherein both of them coexist and allow the spectator to make connections between the artistic work and the surroundings in new and unexpected ways.
