I am a practicing artist and teacher. I have done my Bachelor and Master degree in Painting. Apart from painting I also work in a three dimensional format.
For me sculpture is a medium to explore and play with.
I enjoy feeling the materials with hands while working. Physical labor and involvement of machinery are two other aspects that excite me to make a sculptural work. People say I carry a painterly sensibility into my sculptural work and I think I bear the tactile feeling of sculpture into my painting. I start my work from a realistic reference point and then I transform that reference into some other formation.
To begin with a reference point is very important to me. For both, painting and sculpture I use minimum variety of color and give emphasis on texture. I find public art project and site specific installation very challenging and exciting.
